New, Good, Rock. Pick two.

The other day Katie and I were in the car rocking out to some Journey, and I was ranting all about how there hasn't been a new band since the early 90s that has come onto the scene that can really just flat out rock. Like ROCK-YOUR-FRACKING-SOCKS-OFF type rock. Like Journey. Or Guns n Roses. And then Separate Ways ended and the next song on my list started to play. And I realized I was full of crap and the next great rock band was really right in front of me and I had just never thught of them like that. That band is the Black Keys.

They came onto the scene in 2001 and have a very fuzzy jazzy/jazz-rock sound they may take a little getting used to if you aren't into that sort of thing, but take the time to really appreciate it and you'll be blown away. Here you can get a sample of their latest release and blast some nerds while you're at it. Tell me, where can you get a better offer than that for free? You've probably even heard them before in commercials/movies/video games and just didn't know it (but secretly loved it). I have all their major releases, and I have to say they're pretty much the best thing since Gorilla Glue. And I LOVE Gorilla Glue. On top of that they're fellow Firestone Falcons and I used to play soccer with Dan (dude with the sick ass beard) and I grew up down the street from the other dude, Pat.

Listen. Love. Thank me for bringing this into your lives. Repeat.
